Practical Wireless QRP contest - 13th June 2010

The club entered the Practical Wireless QRP contest on the 13th June from the new club contest site at the Weaver Hills with the support of the farmer.

Located just north of Uttoxeter with an altitude of 1200ft and a prime view from the NW to the NE our new location affords good DX to Europe

Geoff, Bruce and Steve arrived the night before and enjoyed Chili, Wine and Cheese with a view to die for.

Foundation Success - June 2010

Well done to Gary, M6GPC for passing his foundation exam. Gary taught himself, took the exam at the club and scored 100%

You can't please everyone - 19th June 2010

It appears that a complaint was made regarding the antennas and now we have a letter from East Staffs Council telling us we have breached planning.

In response the club has removed the faulty HF antenna and made a subtle change to the VHF antenna. Steve, M0KPO has sent a letter to the council informing them they have no understanding of there own rules.

We await a response.
