You will find us operating on HF and VHF. Anyone is welcome to come along; licensed or unlicensed we don’t mind.

Time is from 19:00 to closing time and cost is £1 per head to the club.

There are good facilities at the Institute, including a large hall & licensed Bar.

We have been given the okay to install some antennas and set up a radio shack.

We will soon be able to offer Foundation, Intermediate and Full license training and exams. Three members of the club are registering as trainers.

If you are interested in getting a license then please get in contact with us.

94 Year delay on QSL card - September 2009

On the 2nd July 2008 a representative of the Burton on Trent Amateur Radio Club visited the Poldhu Amateur Radio Club at the Marconi Centre, in Cornwall. Mike, G4HBY, as carrying a copy of a message sent from Poldhu in August 1914 just prior to the outbreak of World War one.

'3rd International Pumping Stations on the Air'
2009 Incorporation with the Claymills Pumping Engines Trust.

This will take place on the Bank Holiday weekend in August 2009 - Sunday 30th & Monday 31st - 10am - 5pm

Burton ARC gets a second home - June 2009

Burton Arc has a second home. Every month on the second Wednesday of the month we can use teh meeting room at Claymills Pumping Station. The room cost is £1 per head and this goes to the trust. Room opens 7pm with free tea and coffee.

The plan is that this night will be for radio use and experiments.

The eyelet on the chimney has now been rethreaded by Burton Fire Service, this will allow us to put up long wires and other antennas as needed.
