INTERNATIONAL MUSEUMS
WEEKEND 2007

at
COORS VISITOR CENTRE & THE MUSEUM OF BREWING
PO Box 220, Horninglow Street, Burton upon Trent, DE14 1YQ

JUNE - Saturday 16th - Sunday 17th

Call sign
GB1CVC

Our Reg. No. is 5165

The intention of the event is to set up amateur radio special event stations at as many of the museums as possible throughout the whole of the world.

The museums taking part over the years have included ships, castles, air museums, Napoleonic forts, pumping stations, wireless museums, racing museums and many others. For the purposes of the event, the word 'museum' is loosely interpreted.

The two days went very well, although we were suffering from a lot of QRM from the town centre and a lack of good working conditions on HF. VHF suffered a bit as we were right in the centre of town and surrounded by tall buildings. We had a few visitors and a rather jolly time never the less. Weather was a little wet on Saturday and Sunday turned out rather nice day.

Contacts were made as far away and the USA and Africa.

Our thanks go to all the helpers and operators over the weekend and not forgetting Coors for allowing us to use the site.

Equipment in use. Icom IC-7000, Kenwood TS-2000X, G5RV, 6-20m Vertical, 2m/70cm Vertical
Contacts made. 18 on HF, 26 on VHF and 3 on CW
Our thanks go to...
