Burton Amateur Radio Club is one of the oldest radio clubs in existence. Records go back as far as 1919, but we know of some history going back as far as 1914.

The current committee is;

You will find us operating on HF and VHF. Anyone is welcome to come along; licensed or unlicensed we don’t mind.
Time is from 19:00 to closing time and cost is £1 per head to the club.
There are good facilities at the Institute, including a large hall & licensed Bar.
We have a radio shack for all to use using Yaesu Equipment
We can now offer Foundation, Intermediate and Full license training and exams. Two members of the club are registering as trainers.
If you are interested in getting a license then please get in contact with us.
We are a friendly club with a wealth of knowledge and visitors are most welcome.
We are happy to come to your local event and put on a radio display. We are also happy to work with local schools to help teach Amateur Radio.

Contact the club if you wish to be on the next course
You can get a foundation licence in and little as 12 hours.
The Burton ARC is able to offer training and exams. We have three Instructors accredited by RSGB Train the Trainers scheme that will be able to help you along the way to getting your licence.

Ofcom (1st December 2006) launched an online lifetime licensing service for ships’ and amateur radio.

Nets are held Sunday morning at 10.00 and every Thursday evening at 20.00, 145.575 MHz give or take. The net controller will be using the club’s call sign G3NFC. Please call in for a chat.
